2025 Independence Day Celebration in Breckenridge

Breckenridge’s 2025 Independence Day Celebration on July 4th is a vibrant, firework-free event emphasizing community spirit, outdoor activities, and family-friendly fun. Here’s what to expect:

Event Highlights

  • Independence Day 10K
    Kick off the morning with a scenic 10K trail run from 7:00–11:00 AM. Early registration is recommended as this race typically sells out in June.
  • Strider Bike Race
    At 8:30 AM, young riders can participate in the 10th Annual Strider Race, starting at the historic Gold Pan Saloon and finishing at Blue River Plaza. Pre-registration is required; no day-of sign-ups.
  • Firecracker 50 Mountain Bike Race
    This 50-mile race begins at 9:30 AM on Main Street, leading into Breckenridge’s backcountry trails with challenging climbs and thrilling descents.
  • Main Street Parade
    Starting at 10:00 AM, the beloved Independence Day Parade features floats, local organizations, and community groups marching down Main Street.

Firework-Free Celebration

Due to dry conditions and a commitment to wildfire prevention, Breckenridge does not host fireworks. Guests are thanked in advance for not using fireworks during the celebration.

Pet Advisory

For the safety and comfort of pets, town officials strongly recommend leaving them at home, as downtown is expected to be busy on July 4th.Breckenridge, Colorado

Street Closures

Main Street will be closed from French St. to Park Ave. starting at 6:00 AM. The section from Ski Hill Rd. to Adams Ave. will remain closed until 6:00 PM, with the remainder reopening immediately after the parade.
