My name is Mandi, and I grew up with these peaks and rivers in my backyard. Colorado’s wild spirit has always been a part of my life. When I was eight or nine, I saw a wild bear from just a few feet away while swinging on a tire in our yard.. my first real taste of adventure, and a moment that quietly shaped how I see the natural world.

Years later, it was my daughter who taught me how to ski, bringing everything full circle and deepening my appreciation for this land. From mountain towns to quiet hideaways, I’ve spent years exploring Colorado with curiosity and care; collecting stories, moments, and lived experience along the way.

Why I Write

That’s why I create detailed guides.. not just to help you plan where to go, but to help you feel into a place before you arrive. My grandpa always used to say Colorado was just ugly and brown, but I could never see it that way. To me, this place has always been full of color, texture, contrast, and hidden beauty: gold grass against blue shadows, red stone after rain, sunlit ridgelines, dusty roads, alpine light, and the kind of wide-open silence that makes the whole landscape feel alive.
