2026 Cascade Pikes Peak International Hill Climb

Date: June 21, 2026

The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, famously known as “The Race to the Clouds,” is one of Colorado’s most iconic motorsport events and one of the oldest racing traditions in the United States. Held annually on Pikes Peak, America’s Mountain, this legendary race challenges drivers to climb a 12.42-mile course with 156 turns, beginning at 9,390 feet and finishing at the 14,115-foot summit.

The 2026 race takes place on June 21 and features multiple racing divisions, including Unlimited, GT4, Time Attack, and Open Wheel. The event draws skilled racers from around the world, with vehicles ranging from high-performance race cars to innovative electric entries.

Spectators can watch from designated viewing areas along Pikes Peak Highway, including Devil’s Playground, Glen Cove, The Ski Area, Halfway Picnic Grounds, 9 Mile, and the Start Line. Some areas may also offer camping permits for a full race weekend experience. Tickets are required for spectators ages 10 and older, and Fan Buses are available for visitors who want to enjoy the event without driving up the mountain themselves.

Tip: Plan ahead for early arrival, mountain weather, and high-elevation conditions. There is no grandstand seating, and spectators must watch from designated viewing areas along Pikes Peak Highway.
